About My Clients
Have you been searching for a therapist and just can’t seem to find the right fit? I get it! Sometimes, life can be challenging and finding a good match can be just as difficult. As a family therapist, my training is based in a systems approach which allows me to work well with either families or individuals. I work with a wide array of clients and place a high importance on equity and social justice. As a bicultural therapist, I will use my unique perspective to guide me.
My Background and Approach
My philosophy is an eclectic approach in which I typically draw from Narrative Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Feminist Theory, among other theoretical frameworks I typically lean on. I take an open stance in therapy to tailor each session to your unique needs. My hope is to provide a safe space for you to explore the deeper, wounded parts of your lived experience and move towards healing. I hold an undergraduate degree in Gender Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles and a Master of Arts in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy from Lewis & Clark Graduate School which has an emphasis in social justice. My masters level coursework included, but was not limited to Family Development, Somatic Psychology, Treatment of Eating Disorders, and Couples Therapy. Additionally, I am working towards becoming a Body Trust Provider with Be Nourished. This certification allows me to take an anti-diet, body liberation approach.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We all face challenging times as relational beings. My belief in the room as a therapist places an emphasis on utilizing an intersectional, inclusive, body positive, health at every size®, and an anti-oppressive lens. This means our conversations will naturally include your cultural identities, social locations, family history, and the broader contexts of your lived experience. I believe you are the expert of your own life. Therefore, I take a collaborative approach, so we can work together and bring forth meaningful transformation.
