About My Clients
I enjoy working with college students and young adults who are navigating through childhood and relational trauma, anxiety disorders, life transitions, and self-identity development. I've also worked with concerns such as sexual assault, women's issues, depression, low self-esteem, imposter syndrome, and body image disturbances.
My Background and Approach
As a counselor, my goal is to create an environment where you feel accepted and empowered so you can face difficult challenges within the complexity of life. I value authenticity, compassion, and transparency and utilize these values during session so that we can build a powerful therapeutic relationship together.I approach counseling from an Acceptance and Commitment Theory approach in order to help clients understand behaviors, develop mindfulness skills in order to cope with difficult thoughts and feelings, and identify values in order to create lives worth living. I also utilize techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, somatic processing, and Brainspotting.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I consider myself a human first and a therapist second. I find importance in utilizing therapeutic techniques in my personal life in order to care for myself and be able to show up authentically for my clients. I support Reproductive Rights, the LGBTQIA+ community, and believe we should be fighting for systemic change regarding healthcare across the board.
