About My Clients
I serve the "alternative" community - LGBTQA++, Non-traditional relationships (triads, poly, BDSM partnerships), Sex Workers, gender outlaws of all stripes. I know that people have told you how to think and feel and what is good for you and your life/lifestyle and how you come up short. I strive to be non-judgmental, and to truly hear your goals and work with you, not for you, to reach them.
My Background and Approach
I am a person-centered counselor with 7+ years of experience as a MH therapist and over 15 years as a Chemical Dependency/SUD counselor. I use a blend of CBT and other evidence-based treatment modalities informed by a client focused and respectful approach. I am also trained in EMDR, and will happily discuss that with you if you are interested. With chemicals, as with all aspects of our lives, I am very solidly in the Harm Reduction camp, and want to meet you where you are to help you go to where you want to be. About me: I'm Queer, Poly, Pagan, Non-Binary and Non-judgmental about lifestyle issues. I am a therapist because I am a Priestess. I am licensed in several states, though my home base is in Seattle, WA.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My basic philosophies are that our minds and bodies are utterly intertwined, and that people generally want to do the best they can. I believe that no adult has the right to tell another adult what to put into or take out of their own bodies (food? drugs? medicines? body parts? babies?), and I am committed to personal exploration to come to our own decisions about the path we are on. I believe I can give you some tools, coach you, teach you, and then step back and watch you build your best life. I stand by my belief that we all can choose to live in the world of what we WANT, not the world that others try to force you to live in.
