About My Clients
You’ve reached a point in life where everything feels uncertain—whether it’s navigating a breakup, a new career, or becoming a parent, you’re feeling overwhelmed. You might be dealing with anxiety, self-doubt, or the feeling of being lost in your identity. What you want is clarity, confidence, and the ability to move forward with purpose. You’re ready to embrace this new phase of your life but need guidance to feel grounded and supported.
My Background and Approach
My approach is individualized and draws on various therapeutic methods, including talk therapy, CBT, ACT, DBT skills, attachment-based therapy, mindfulness-based practices, and ecotherapy. I blend these techniques based on your unique needs and preferences. Before transitioning to private practice, I worked with low-income clients in community mental health, volunteered as a crisis counselor for 988 Lifeline, and facilitated grief support groups through Our House Grief Support Center. Prior to becoming a therapist, I ran an outdoor adventure company, building community and guiding weekend camping and backpacking trips throughout California. I love bringing nature into my work when appropriate.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My social work background has shaped my belief that people are profoundly influenced by their environment, including social, economic, and cultural factors. I encourage clients to explore all aspects of their identity to fully understand their experiences. This approach drives my commitment to social justice, including supporting the Black Lives Matter movement. As a white clinician, I actively reflect on how my privilege impacts my work, striving to create a safe, inclusive space grounded in empathy, learning, and anti-oppressive practice. My passion for the outdoors has inspired me to advocate for climate action, recognizing the urgency of environmental protection. I also make it a practice to acknowledge the native lands where I work, honoring Indigenous histories and addressing the impacts of colonialism.
