About My Clients
I work with emerging adults and adults experiencing depression, stress/anxiety, substance use, relationship challenges, life transitions and/or the desire for self exploration. I see you as the expert on your life and I am the expert in mental health - together, we join forces with our respective expertise to create and accomplish your goals!
My Background and Approach
I am grounded in a client centered approach. I support my clients in determining the direction and depth that therapy takes. Through a strengths-based and solution-focused lens, I draw on multiple treatment modalities to guide clients in identifying their strengths and goals. Using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I assist clients in exploring relationships among thoughts, feelings, and behaviors to aid in discovering dysfunctional thought patterns leading to self-destructive behaviors and beliefs. Using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I support clients through developing skills: mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and emotion regulation. I aim to create a safe and welcoming environment for clients to practice vulnerability and move towards their goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Our wounds are not our faults; however, healing is our responsibility. The beauty in this responsibility is that there is something we can do to reclaim our life. I am eager to accompany you on your journey to a more sovereign you. I love yoga, walking my dog, spending time with my husband and little girl, cooking, reading and learning new things. I am excited to meet you and learn what sparks joy for you!
