About My Clients

I am committed to creating an affirming therapeutic environment for LGBTQIA+ folks. I recognize the unique challenges that marginalized communities face, including the impact of discrimination, family rejection, and navigating identity in a world that doesn't always feel safe. My practice honors the diversity of gender identities, sexual orientations, and relationship structures.

My Background and Approach

I've been a practicing therapist for over a decade now, and very much enjoy my work. I have pursued specialized training over the years in trauma, relationships, and working with the LGBTQIA+ Community, as being an oppressed minority comes with strain on mental health. My style is calm, supportive, kind, and warm. I do try to push you to the edge of your comfort zone, as that is where growth takes place. I meet you where you are and walk with you as you explore your own mind. My job is to help you to cope with life's ups and downs and grow the life you want, one that you are proud of. The Nitty Gritty of my training - Bachelors degree in Psychology, minoring in Sociology and Health and Human Services. -Masters Degree is in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with a specialization in Couples and Family work. -Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in North Carolina

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that everyone is trying their best at any given time. Every day your best may look different, and that is okay. To make mistakes and to feel is to be human. Emotions tell us something about what we are going through- they are there to be listened to, not stuffed down. Emotions are important- even if they don't always feel good. My hope is that through my work I am able to make an impact in the community- one client at a time. My biggest passion is to help the LGBTQIA+ community have a safe space to process everything that living in a society as an oppressed minority throws at them. It is a difficult time in history to be living in- but you are not alone in it! Outside of my work, I do have a family that I greatly love and value, which includes a partner, a child and furry cuddle buddies. They are my world. I also seek out my own therapy- I can't experience every walk of life first hand, but I can be on the other side of therapy and understand how vulnerable it can be.
