About My Clients

You might be struggling to find the "right" answer to what you're doing next and how you're gonna do it. Or trying to address seemingly unanswerable questions like - "Why is it still so hard if I'm doing everything right?" or "What if my best is still not enough?" or even, "What is actually going on?" Therapy with me offers a safe place to arrive fully as yourself, set down all the questions and demands of today, and create the supportive path you need toward the you that you want to be.

My Background and Approach

I am an Associate Professional Clinical Counselor with extensive, specialized experience working with LGBTQIA2S+ people. My therapy style emphasizes building a felt sense of trust and safety within the therapy space. Therapy with me will look different based upon your needs, but I have been a good fit for folks who like a casual and collaborative style in session and who tend toward creative thinking (think analogies, metaphors, describing a feeling like a color or a shape). In the beginning of therapy, we will work together to clarify your personal goals for treatment and how you will define progress. This will help us to structure sessions so that you feel safe to be challenged toward that progress. I aim to strike a balance between existential and pragmatic work and mainly apply techniques from both Narrative and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My practice is informed by healing justice and disability justice principles. My work as a therapist includes a commitment to collective liberation, because individual wellbeing and community wellbeing are interwoven parts of the same whole. I know it can make a big difference to know who your therapist is, too. My lived experiences include that I am a white, queer, nonbinary, neurodivergent person with chronic pain who is originally from the south. I balance work life by bouncing around between various interests, including: crochet, wheel-thrown pottery, kayaking, horror movies, bass music, lots of reading (especially mystery and memoir), and doting on my cat. The world is made immeasurably better by your presence in it and Iโ€™m so glad youโ€™re here. If you are interested in working together, please reach out and we can set up an initial consultation call. Talk soon and take care!
