About My Clients
My clients are seeking space to have their trauma healed, their pain witnessed, and their lived experience understood. I collaborate with my clients from a place of curiosity, transparency, compassion, and humor. I support individuals and relationships who have experienced relational or childhood trauma, sexual trauma, medical trauma/chronic illness. anxiety, grief and/or relational distress.
My Background and Approach
I believe that curiosity heals, that healing comes from approaching our lives with greater openness and non-judgement. I work with adults desiring support for complex trauma, relational distress, chronic illness, grief and loss, and career counseling. Using a caring, direct approach, I support clients to gain deeper understanding, increase emotional regulation, & use more effective conflict management strategies. I believe that our world often makes it seem like we need to be fixed when really we need trust, connection, and tools to cultivate desired change within ourselves and our relationships. My style is rooted in trauma-informed, strength-based models, & I aim to provide LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, and culturally affirming services. I draw mainly from narrative and internal family systems therapies. I often use attachment and somatic interventions, and I'm trained in EMDR, family systems therapy, EFT (Emotion Focused Therapy), & the Gottman Method.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
With a background in social work and marriage/family therapy, I place high importance on my clients' lived experiences and that they are the experts on their own lives. My goal is to offer space to collaborate with my clients to explore and determine what life they want to cultivate. I will never tell you how to live your life; that's not my place. Instead, I am here to go alongside your journey of self-discovery and healing. My role will be to collaborate with you, prioritize safety, and remind you that you are not alone in carrying the burden of or healing from life's challenges. I aim to embody the traits of a therapist and human who affirms all people and is aware of how my own identities may intersect with those of my clients. I’m not an apolitical therapist. I approach my role from a place of acknowledging the difficulties our current world presents and considering both more individual and community-centered approaches of healing.
