About My Clients
Are you or your child having trouble building self-esteem and managing intense emotions? Are you avoiding people, places, things, and memories that continue to cause you distress years later? I would love to meet you and see how we can work as a team to identify the root cause of your concerns. I work collaboratively with my clients to create a trusting and warm environment so that it feels safe to share emotions in session. We can go at your pace to make sure that our time together is useful!
My Background and Approach
I became licensed while working with foster youth and unhoused individuals which fostered a deep understanding of the impact that trauma, systemic barriers, and family dynamics have on mental wellness. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy (DDP). I'm also trained in harm reduction, crisis intervention, and I love to integrate creative arts into therapy sessions. I recently completed specialized training in Perinatal Mental Health with Postpartum Support International after becoming a mom and gaining interest in supporting fellow parents and parents-to-be.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I work from an anti-racist and anti-oppressive stance and strive to work towards decolonization of the mental health field. I have experience working with LGBTQIA2S individuals as well as folks living with HIV. I have some experience and am always learning more about sex-positive communities, polyamory, and ethical non-monogamy. My beliefs are never center stage, but I believe that bringing my humanity into the room can often enrich our therapeutic relationship.
