About My Clients
You know you're in the right place if you're looking for help from someone who understands the challenges unique to mixed race individuals, BIPOC communities, and the mental game athletes face. As a mixed race woman and former Division I athlete, I bridge lived experience with clinical training to help teens and young adults who are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, identity, low self-esteem, trauma, and phase of life transitions.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is integrative and combines person-entered, cognitive-behavioral, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and somatic-based therapies. A top priority for me is to meet you where you are and calibrate treatment and my approach to what will work best for us as we work together to meet your goals. My therapy style is relational, supportive, humorous, and directive. I will work to earn your trust and create a safe space for you to feel seen, hear, and understood. I will listen non-judgmentally, support you, give you tools and feedback, and push you toward your goals and the life you want. You can expect to be challenged, but you can also expect to laugh! Therapy should be enjoyable, and I hope you look forward to sessions even when we talk about the hard stuff.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It takes courage to take the first step towards change, and by seeking therapy you are doing just that. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and empower you. You are not alone! In my free time you can find me hanging with family and friends, working out, listening to Afrobeats, singing, shopping at Target, playing basketball, or indulging in a good Netflix binge. I'm also here for a good Saturday brunch, chai tea latte, and just about anything sweet!
