About My Clients

Does your life look "fine" on the outside, but you're having an entirely different internal experience full of anxiety, a harsh inner critic and feelings of self-doubt? Are you ready to identify and learn to navigate your emotions, rebuild trust within yourself, let go of feelings of inadequacy and make peace with your inner critic? Therapy offers a space to unravel the impact of past experiences on your present and to bridge the gap between where you are now and how you want to live.

My Background and Approach

My approach is integrative and holistic. My work is guided by Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and somatic approaches, which explores how our bodies hold our lived experiences. Our sessions may incorporate elements of mindfulness, self-compassion, creative expression and body awareness. Your needs will be at the center of all of the work we do together. In our work together, you’ll be reminded of your strengths, encouraged to meet uncertainty with curiosity and learn to practice compassion in the areas where you might stumble. Sessions may include enhancing your ability to make intentional choices that are aligned with your values through mindfulness, expressive techniques and somatic practices. Our path forward is determined by your needs and interests.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I value social justice, creativity, experiential learning, and supporting clients in creating sustainable tools and strategies that enable them to live the fullest and most authentic version of their lives. I am acutely aware of the ways that intersectional and marginalized social identities impact mental health. I am keenly aware of the toll that macro and microaggressions have on our minds, bodies, and spirits and how the stereotype of “the strong Black woman” can limit emotional expression and the value of taking care of ourselves. I work to help clients find ways to stay centered, grounded, and authentic in the face of a challenging world. I believe joy is a form of resistance.
