About My Clients
I believe my clients are looking for a caring , knowledgeable therapist to effectively support them. They may be experiencing depression or anxiety or undergoing life transitions like being a new parent, divorce, marriage, new job, moving, parenting challenges, menopause, aging parents, illness, or new relationships. They may need to work through unresolved feelings from their upbringing with caretakers or siblings. Overall, they're looking for more creative approaches to therapy & coping.
My Background and Approach
My name is Alyse McKeal & I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker & Psychotherapist. I am an experienced Registered Play Therapist who is working on bringing a therapy dog into my practice. I specialize in working with children, adolescents & adults. I find that meeting my clients as humans first & from a judgment free, compassionate place is more effective in developing the kind of relationship needed for doing this important work. I have come to know how vital the relationship between myself and client is, as it is one of the most effective tools in this healing work. I utilize various techniques & design therapy sessions to best align with client’ needs. What works for one person may not be what another needs in therapy, so I recognize & apply this approach to each client. While I use some creative or mindful approaches with some to work out or process an issue, I find that different approaches may work with another client on a similar presenting issue, and that is okay.
