About My Clients

I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups struggling with the impact of trauma, anxiety and depression, performance anxiety, life and career transitions, and creative blocks, and I'm available for both in-person and virtual sessions.

My Background and Approach

As a former creative professional myself, I can relate to the unique needs of a creative: personal values and passion that lead someone to pursue a creative occupation, a career that defines individual identity, feelings of living outside dominant culture without a roadmap forward, and the instability that can occur with freelance/consultative work. Though it is natural for creative expression to have cycles of ebb and flow, a drying out of the creative impulse is often a sign that something needs to be attended to in the psyche. Therapy can be a creative process that embraces the journey of discovery and reframes feelings of failure as opportunities to learn and grow. Together we will work to explore your most difficult feelings, face the shadow of past traumas, heal childhood wounds, relieve depression and anxiety, improve communication, increase self-esteem, and develop more satisfying relationships.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

It has been said that we are hurt in relationships, and we heal in relationships. Many of us haven't had much experience with the kind of truly supportive relationships that make healing possible. A good therapeutic relationship allows us to be fully ourselves while recognizing our unique potential. It is also a microcosm of your relationships in other areas of your life in which we will examine rupture and identify patterns that occur within our shared space. My work is informed by the idea that in order to change, we must first cultivate self-acceptance. I believe that we all possess an inner strength and resilience that, with support and increased self-awareness, can empower us to live authentic, fulfilling, and meaningful lives. I work in a relational, supportive, and collaborative way to help people move from anxiety, trauma, depression and problems with relationships to a place of increased trust, safety, and satisfaction.
