Trauma is one of the main issues that I work with. My preferred treatment course for trauma work is EMDR. It typically provides relief and resolution much quicker than traditional talk therapy as it involves establishing safety within the client in tandem with their counselor. Then, working with the mind-body connection to reprocess traumatic memories and integrate new positive beliefs.

Aly considers herself an ally and has a special interest in working with those identifying in the LGBTQIA+ community using Affirmative Therapy.

Aly works a lot with anxiety, including generalized anxiety and social anxiety, using a mindfulness approach to build self-awareness, CBT to reframe distorted ways of thinking, and filling up the client's toolbox with a variety of grounding techniques to lessen anxiety from both the "bottom up" and "top down".

Aly utilizing mindfulness-based techniques in her therapy work when appropriate, including guided meditations and grounding techniques.

Aly believes that we are hard-wired for connection and is it through authentic, empathetic, connection with another person that allows us to heal. "I believe that a different therapy must be constructed for each patient because each has a unique story." --Irvin D. Yalom
