About My Clients
I serve neurodivergent adults and family members in Oregon. This includes people who are Autistic, have ADHD, PTSD/CPTSD, BPD, Bipolar, schizophrenia, and more.
My Background and Approach
I hold Master's and Doctorate degrees in clinical social work. I completed my MSW at the University of Southern California and completed my training at the Warrior Transition Battalion, serving soldiers transitioning out of the Army, mainly from PTSD. I also have a Master's of Liberal Studies with an English Concentration and a Bachelor's of Arts in Journalism. I believe that stories are what make us human. Therapy is about having a safe space to tell your story, be heard, learn to interpret its meaning, and have more control over the next chapters. I use an eclectic approach to therapy with clients based on their needs and goals within a neurodiversity paradigm.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe it's important for therapy clients to feel comfortable to be themselves with their therapist. How can you talk about the deepest parts of yourself if you're uncomfortable that your therapist might be voting against your right to exist? I am a Progressive who votes with those with the least power in mind. I take my professional ethics, which include social justice, very seriously. I support all marginalized people with an eye towards equity. While disability justice directly impacts my life, I believe that advocacy must be intersectional. I support Black Lives. I believe LGBTQIAS2+ people enrich our culture and should be welcome and included. I respect your pronouns and identities. I am against genocide. My practice is secular but open to all religious people and, indeed, all people. Here are my cultural identities. I am an Autistic/ADHD, white, cis, heterosexual, secular, Xennial (cusp of Gen X and Millennial) woman born into poverty who is now middle class.
