About My Clients
My clients are often people who are very good at holding things together — in boardrooms, courtrooms, hospitals, classrooms, and at home. Many are high achievers who come to therapy not because they've fallen apart, but because they're tired of doing it alone. Others are navigating grief that feels invisible or unvalidated, or sitting with questions about identity that have been waiting to be explored. What they share is courage — and a readiness to be seen without having to perform anything.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate practicing in Seattle, working with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. Before becoming a therapist, I spent over 22 years as an attorney, and learned firsthand how a high-stakes professional life can quietly crowd out the relationships, self-knowledge, and emotional connections that matter most. That experience informs my approach, which is relational at its core. I draw on Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and somatic practices to find the combination of methods that fit each client. Within that relational framework, grief and identity are where I go deepest. I am a Certified Grief Informed Professional, trained to meet clients in their grief without timelines or pressure to move on. I am also trained in Working with Neurodiverse Couples in Therapy through AANE, and bring specialized understanding to the unique challenges faced by neurodivergent and LGBTQIA+ couples.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe my life's purpose is to love and be loved — and that everyone is worthy of love and compassion. That includes you. I believe that grief deserves witness, not hurrying. Our culture treats grief as a detour on the way back to normal life, which leaves grievers feeling invisible and alone. I will never push you to find the silver lining or move on before you're ready. Instead, we'll work to integrate your grief as part of your full human experience. I believe you are the expert of your own experience. The wisdom and resources you need already exist within you — my job is to help you access them. I believe in curiosity over judgment, in humor when it belongs, and in diving deep when you're ready. I also believe that questions about identity — who you are, who you want to become — deserve space at any age or stage of life. I believe therapy should feel like a relationship where you are fully accepted, and where real change becomes possible.
