My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, I have several years of experience in working with people from diverse backgrounds and life circumstances. I have a Bachelor's degree in psychology and a Master's degree in counseling. I have worked in clinical settings, including community mental health and private practice, since 2007. My approach is genuine, warm, and affirming. I specialize in treating survivors of trauma, mood disorders, and general life stress. My counseling approach can be described as integrative, working within a framework of trauma-informed care to meet the individual needs of each client. I may utilize various approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, mindfulness-based interventions, parts work, and strengths-focused feminist perspective.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the inherent value of each person who comes to my practice. My approach is inclusive, welcoming, and open. I have 18 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families in both community mental health and private settings. I use a person-centered, strength-based perspective to explore how life experiences, thoughts, and feelings impact behavior. Through counseling, you can transform painful emotions into starting points for healing and move forward with the life you want.
