About My Clients

Are you tired of feelings of depression or anxiety interfering with your ability to live a life worth living? Have you ever wondered where it even came from? Or why you may feel especially stressed at seemingly insignificant situations or conversations? You may have experienced some kind of trauma early in your life. I can help you develop coping strategies and help process traumatic events through EMDR and possibly with the assistance of horse therapy.

My Background and Approach

I graduated with my Master's of Social Work in 2020. I have worked with individuals diagnosed with a severe mental illness and Army soldiers. Recently, I have worked in community mental health. Before getting my degree, I served 6 years as an Army officer on active duty and 3 years in the Army Reserve and had the honor of serving my country in Afghanistan. I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Insight Oriented Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, and Experiential Therapies (ie. Walk and Talk Therapy and Equine-Assisted-Therapy). I am currently working towards being fully trained in EMDR and will incorporate experiential therapies in the future. My goal is to help you be your own therapist. To help you develop the ability to be "in your body" and employ coping strategies that work for you.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am a believer that we are our own hero. In therapy, I see myself as your teammate helping you on your journey. I am here to help, but not to do your work. I have experienced childhood trauma that have continued to affect how I view myself in relation to others and the world. I have also been in a war zone and come back and feel like I no longer belonged. I have come a long way in my journey of growth and recovery and feel my experiences can help others. Therapy is hard. I believe when clients seek therapy, they seek change. And change is hard, no matter if it's good or bad change. But through persistence, patience, and compassion for yourself, you can get there.
