About My Clients
Life is full of obstacles and challenges, some big and some smaller. When these situations start to feel hopeless or out of control, seeking help can be important. You don't have to navigate these challenges alone, and learning healthy tools to overcome and deal with these situations is an important part of mental and physical health. I believe that all people have the potential to improve their situation; sometimes, they just need support to navigate those changes.
My Background and Approach
I have been providing counseling services for over 20 years. My experience started during my internships working with children in the juvenile justice system and then working with domestic violence survivors. After graduating with my Master's degree, I spent 3 years working at a domestic violence shelter, overseeing case management and children's services while completing my counseling license. I then spent 12 years working in education, providing crisis counseling services. I left education in 2019 and have been offering teletherapy counseling services to adults, focusing on trauma, chronic health concerns, educators, and first responders.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone has the ability to change, grow, and improve their situation. We are a collection of experiences, good or bad, that impact how we see the world. Navigating those experiences and learning ways to cope with traumatic or unhealthy situations can be important to growth. As a teenager, I was positively impacted by my own therapy, leading me to want to pursue a career in counseling. I want each client to walk away having gained something just as valuable.
