Through research and treatment with other clients, I have experience of working with couples and individuals that are exploring or already in a poly or open relationship. Like my approach that no one client is the same, no relationship constellation operates the same either. However, I do believe that at the foundation we need communication and to honor emotions.

Relationships can be the things that push us to be and do better. A relationship in constant conflict or dealing with a trust rupture from infidelity or themes of feeling unseen/unheard can make life feel harder each day. Couple's therapy is a place to witness our partner(s) and breakdown some of the stories we have held around "who they are" that sometimes play into our patterns.

What are the stories you were told for how you had to be as a woman? Taking in culture, race, U.S. geographical area, and age, we all were told wild ideas on how we could "do it all". Burnout specifically in women is very real when we think about all the ways we are told to do and be better. Add in reproductive issues, relationships, beauty, work, anxiety, depression.... Let me help you break the stories and continue writing a new, more personal one.

For couples counseling, I take the approach of using an EFT informed approach and combining a Narrative lens. I am warm and feel comfortable inserting myself when needed. I do assign homework sometimes as a way to continue to unite the couple outside of therapy.

I use an emotionally focused informed lens with all clients to unpack the deeper held emotions and attachments that maybe carried with them.
