About My Clients
I have extensive experience working with clients who have Borderline Personality Disorder, eating disorders, and trauma. I believe in collaborating directly with my clients to ensure you get what you need from therapy. I offer tangible skills to manage distress, improve relationships and increase your ability to support yourself.
My Background and Approach
I have training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD. I believe that therapy is not just for processing and validating feelings, but also for challenging distorted thoughts and implementing new coping skills. My goal is to give my clients the skills and support they need to live a life worth living.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about intuitive eating and the Health at Every Size movement. I believe that societal norms about ideal body sizes create impossible and disordered ideas about weight and food. It's impossible to improve your sense of self by tearing yourself down and holding yourself to an unrealistic and unhealthy standard. It's very important to me to create a safe, welcoming space for my clients where they feel heard and understood. I never want my clients to feel judged by me, or to feel uncomfortable sharing what is true to them. My clients are the expert in their own lives.
