About My Clients
I believe that I work well with a wide array of very diverse populations. I work best with clients who have clear goals for the changes they would like to see in their life. I have strong experience with clients of all backgrounds from countries all over the world. People experiencing difficulties related to recent changes in their life, maybe a recent death of a loved one, a diagnosis, move to a new location, major change in life circumstances, or an issue with difficult emotions are welcome.
My Background and Approach
I work primarily from a mindfulness based CBT approach. I also incorporate solution focused and motivational interviewing techniques. Existential issues and discussion around major life changes are also happily addressed. I believe also in maintaing a positve psychology approach in stead of a disordering, problem saturated stance. I have worked in many locations in Asia and the United States. I have learned to be effective with a very diverse population of clients. I tailor my approach with each client in order to build an effective thearpeutic relationship that is uniquely focused on each clients identified goals for change and growth.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I see counseling or therapy as an active, collaborative process. I consider it an honor to go on that journey with clients and build a working relationship focused on understanding the process of change and growth, whatever the context and conditions affecting it. I believe we can learn how to best understand our personal situation from a place of acceptance and gratitude, and how to make the most skillful decisions to best enable us to utilize a sense of purpose and maintain appreciation of ourselves and the world around us. I believe in a client centered approach and utilize various treatment modalities to best serve each one.
