About My Clients
Most of my career I have helped people suffering from chronic medical illnesses and the anxiety, depression, and medical trauma (PTSD), they can face. I am experienced with treating many mental health challenges, ADHD, anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, sexual trauma. If you have POTS, EDS, developmental and intellectual challenges, and autism, I am here to help you and your family.
My Background and Approach
Deciding on therapy and getting to your first appointment is more than half the battle to getting and feeling better. I work to explain the therapy process. I strive to be an active listener as you describe what brought you into therapy. I work to make you feel comfortable and look at goals you would like to achieve. I work to demystify the therapy process. Everyone has the tools to get better; they just have to learn when and how to use them. I use humor and motivational interviewing to help the client feel comfortable. I am very empathetic and work to make each client feel heard, appreciated, and safe.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I often use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing in my practice. In your first session, we'll explore what brought you to therapy and then decide the most appropriate ways to help you make progress. I feel by coming to your first appointment, you have tackled the most difficult part of getting therapy and getting better.
