About My Clients
Alizah works with adults addressing a variety of issues including eating disorders and body image concerns, women's issues, anxiety, and perinatal mental health concerns. Alizah is continually implementing approaches to best work with her client’s needs.
My Background and Approach
Alizah uses a person-centered, mindfulness-based, and cognitive-behavioral approach when working with clients. Her goal in sessions is for clients to build towards self-discovery, acceptance, and healing as well as open the opportunity for her clients to work through current life challenges and barriers they experience. Alizah gained experience working with individuals, couples, and groups in direct private mental health practice while in her master’s program as a clinical intern. She also has experience working with college students providing basic needs services to address all areas of life a student may experience. Alizah is dedicated to implementing clinical skills and techniques she has learned, as well as new skills, into her current role at Naperville Wellness and Counseling.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Therapy can be a difficult first step to take in a person’s mental health recovery. Especially when considering lived experiences and systemic injustices that occur in an individual’s life, as a first-generation Pakistani-American, Alizah's beliefs for serving her clients are those that are collaborative and seek to address all aspects of life. She hopes to gain an understanding of her client’s stories in order to better provide empathy and care to them. Outside of her work as a therapist, Alizah likes to spend time with her friends and family. She enjoys her time with nature and embraces her Pakistani heritage through cooking meals and expressive arts such as henna and embroidery.
