About My Clients

If you're exhausted, anxious, and checking the monitor one more time, I know the territory. If you're advocating to get support for your kiddo and still feel like you're failing, I see you. I work with parents on the most stressful aspects of parenting, from anxiety and depression to burnout to body image. I also support parents of neurodivergent and disabled kids. While most of my clients are moms, I also work with dads, nonbinary parents, caregivers, and people who aren't parents at all.

My Background and Approach

I became a mom at 41, in the middle of a demanding leadership role, and I was the mom who tracked every feeding, nap, and wake window. Working through the anxiety and overfunctioning that came with it is part of what led me to social work. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, along with mindfulness and self-compassion, through a systemic, liberation-focused lens. Bring the anger, the anxiety, the mess, and I'll stay steady. We'll name the systems that make parenthood harder, like childcare costs, jobs that still expect your full availability, and "bounce back" culture. Then we'll work on the part that's yours, with concrete things to try between sessions. I practice from a weight-inclusive, anti-diet perspective, because your worth was never about your body. Taking the first step can feel like one more thing on the list. You don't have to have it all figured out to start. Reach out for a free 15-minute consultation, and we'll see if we're a fit.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe the problems you're facing aren't only personal. Lack of PTO, lack of support for neurodivergence, a culture that prioritizes consumerism, and on and on- these are the systemic factors that affect your wellbeing. We'll name the systems at play and then work out what you can do within them. We'll use CBT and ACT for the patterns that keep anxiety, stress, overwhelm, and burnout going. I believe we sometimes need relief from the voice inside. The practice of self-compassion helps you treat yourself the way you'd treat someone you love. And with kindness, change feels possible. I also believe you are worthy, no matter where the larger system places you on a body hierarchy. Your worth was never about your body: how thin it is, or how fast it bounced back, or whether it functions a certain way. I practice from a weight-inclusive, anti-diet perspective. You don’t need to love your body, or even like it, to do this work.
