About My Clients

I work well with clients who would like to address anxious/ruminative/depressive thoughts through mindfulness and behavioral change. I also work well with people who want to explore their alcohol/other substance use from a non-judgmental, harm reduction approach. Clients in therapy with me have also found success in addressing self-criticism/perfectionism, job burnout/compassion fatigue, and building assertiveness skills/boundary setting.

My Background and Approach

I consider myself an eclectic practitioner, meaning my approach is informed by a variety of evidence-based treatments. As a client-centered therapist, I tailor my approach to you and your needs. I believe that everyone has the capacity to heal, grow, and create positive change in their lives when given the right tools. My treatment approach is most strongly informed by Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, mindfulness-based techniques and motivational interviewing. My hope is that through our therapeutic relationship, my clients attain a sense of empowerment and resiliency, as well as the peace that comes with self-acceptance and embracing the here and now. While we can't always change our circumstances, we can always learn to respond to life's challenges in a way that correspond with our most deeply-held values.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

My work as a therapist is strongly informed by my feminist beliefs. Our current patriarchal systems harm women, men, and people of all genders. Often these issues arise in therapy as clients seek to reclaim their power in various spaces.
