About My Clients

I focus on parents and those trying to become parents. Parenting is demanding and nonstop. Once you have it figured out, there is always something new, infants to adult children. It also brings on extra strain in areas such as finances, relationships, careers, and self care. Sometimes family planning does not go as expected. I help parents deal with infertility, miscarriage, loss, etc. Mothers have difficult pregnancies, birth trauma, and postpartum depression and anxiety. Let me help you cope.

My Background and Approach

I'm a fellow parent who understands and knows the unique stressors that come with the job. I like to combine my therapeutic knowledge with the commonality of being a parent or in some cases the desire to be a parent. I'm an LICSW, Boston College Alum with over 12 years experience working with adults with depression and anxiety in individual and group settings. For around five years I have focused on maternal/paternal mental health in an individual, telehealth setting. I'm an active listener who uses approaches such as solution focused therapy, strengths based therapy, motivational interviewing, and CBT.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

We all have emotional trauma from our childhoods that impact how we respond today. Those experiences shape us in positive and sometimes hindering ways. I think it is important for everyone to reflect on our past and create a better understanding of how and why we respond the way we do. If desired, we do have the capacity for change. Therapy works for those who have the desire for it to work. I believe we all need to be acknowledged and heard. Self care is important and in our hectic culture, people tend to put themselves lower on their priority list. I like to help people refocus and build confidence in identifying their needs and communicating those needs to others. In doing so, I practice being non judgmental. I don't discriminate anyone for any belief, practice, or value. I enjoy learning about others, their motivations, and I have a curiosity for life.
