About My Clients
You might be a couple stuck in the same painful arguments, or feeling more like roommates than partners. You might be healing from an affair or betrayal. One of you may be leaning out of the marriage while the other wants to fight for it. You might be engaged and want a strong foundation before the wedding. Or you might be an individual who wants to understand your patterns in relationships. Wherever you’re starting, I’ll meet you there with honesty and care.
My Background and Approach
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with advanced training in the Gottman Method (Levels 1 & 2) and certification in Discernment Counseling through the Doherty Relationship Institute. I also offer SYMBIS premarital counseling. I earned my counseling degree at Xavier University. I combine the Gottman Method’s research-based tools with an attachment-focused approach. We’ll look at the patterns you get stuck in and the needs for safety and connection underneath them, then practice concrete skills for managing conflict, repairing after hurt, and rebuilding closeness. When one partner is unsure about staying, Discernment Counseling offers a short-term, structured process to help you both get clarity about your next step. My style is warm, direct, and practical. You’ll leave sessions with tools you can use at home. I practice under the clinical supervision of Carla Seemann, LPCC-S, LICDC-S
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My path to counseling wasn’t a straight line. I was a teacher and a small business owner before becoming a therapist. Each chapter taught me something about people, change, and starting over, and I bring all of it into my work. I believe most couples who come in struggling aren’t broken; they’re stuck. Real change starts when each partner is willing to look honestly at their own part, not just what they want the other person to change. That kind of openness takes courage, and it’s where the most meaningful growth happens. I also believe big relationship decisions deserve to be made with clarity, not in the middle of a crisis. I live in Loveland with my family and our two dogs. Outside the office, you’ll find me spending time with my family, watching sports, working out, reading, baking, playing pickleball, or around the table with a board game or puzzle.
