About My Clients
I connect with people carrying emotional intensity, relationship challenges, job pressure, spiritual questions, or an uneasy sense of disconnection from yourself. I'm particularly passionate about navigating spiritual concerns, including with folks who want to integrate faith into therapy or who carry hurt, trauma, ambivalence, or complicated experiences related to the church. I bring theological literacy, contemplative grounding, and a genuine respect for the complexity of faith.
My Background and Approach
I'm a pre-licensed Marriage & Family Therapist able to see clients in PA and NJ. For over a decade prior to becoming a therapist, I've walked alongside individuals, couples, families, and communities through uncertainty, transition, and growth as a pastor and chaplain. The most important ingredient in good therapy is the relationship between us. Building trust is the ground for validation and challenge that can lead to new insights and ways of being. From there, I blend nervous system regulation, Emotionally Focused Therapy, parts work (i.e. Internal Family Systems), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to contribute to shifts you're seeking.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
After growing up spiritual but not religious, I found my way to Christian faith in college. I began a journey of seeking that eventually led me to an open and affirming church. Discovering community that welcomes us as we are, invites us to ask questions together, and encourages a balance of personal spiritual practice and social action was a pivotal experience in my life that led me to a vocation in both pastoral ministry and therapy. Contemplative practices like mindfulness, lovingkindness, breath prayer, and lectio divina continue to enrich my faith and connect me to the Holy.
