About My Clients
Receiving a diagnosis of cancer or any chronic illness is a life-altering experience which can cause anxiety, distress, and feelings of loss. I work to create a safe, supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore these feelings, practice self-compassion, and develop sustainable coping skills. My goal is to help you feel less distressed and more whole, so that you can manage these challenges more effectively and feel more connected to the people and experiences that bring you joy.
My Background and Approach
I have spent my entire career working in oncology and chronic illness, and and am well-versed in navigating the medical system. I practice from a strengths-based perspective and will bear witness to and hold space for your lived experiences. I will support you and your loved ones through adjustment, transitions, loss, grief, and survivorship, as well as coping with uncertainty. I received my Master’s in Social Work and Public Health from the University of Pennsylvania in 2012. I have worked in various hospital based and outpatient settings, including Massachusetts General Hospital and the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Thomas Jefferson University, spending 6+ years in outpatient palliative oncology. I re-located to Boston in 2019 and launched my private practice in 2020.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that having the hard conversations can be scary and overwhelming, but also rewarding. I believe that all people deserve a meaningful quality of life which they define for themselves.
