About My Clients
If you are seeking a place to feel heard and seen, while also taking ownership of your own healing process, I am excited to work with you. Life experiences, especially those rooted in trauma, can cause us to put up our defenses and we develop ways of navigating the world that no longer serve us. Therapy can be a vital tool to learn how to look at ways we can improve while also validating our feelings.
My Background and Approach
For the past 14 years, I have had the honor to provide therapeutic support to individuals within a variety of community mental heatlh settings, and more recently at a college counseling center. Providing theraputic support to individuals with challenges ranging from chornic crisis and severe mental illness, to interpersonal difficulties and workplace stress, has helped me to develop a deep understanding that all humans are shaped by their life experiences. My theraputic north star is for clients to be able to honor their traumatic and difficult life experiences while developing a belief in their own resiliency and a commitment to change. I am hopeful that through my knowledge and understanding of effective emotional regulation strategies that you can go into the world with concrete tools that you can utilize in navigating the many challenges of life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My strongest personal and professional belief is that everyone is born with the innate capacity for joy and meaningful connection. While negative life experiences can derail us, I firmly believe that all humans have the capacity to grow, learn, and change. The key to this growth is connecting to your own inner goodness and approaching yourself with self directed kindness and empathy. I also recognize the profound impact of systemic oppression; when navigating inequitable systems, we deeply deserve dedicated space to find internal peace and ease. As an active community member, I hold immense gratitude for human connection. I believe that both communal support and a deep connection to nature are vital to our collective well-being.
