About My Clients
Anxiety and OCD can feel debilitating at times. You may avoid certain places or situations, say "no" to experiences you really wish you could say "yes" to, or spend lots of time worrying and wishing for certainty. The people I work with often feel deeply frustrated as they feel their lives getting smaller and smaller. They want to live their lives fully but feel held back by worry, fear, and uncertainty, and it feels difficult or impossible to control.
My Background and Approach
I help people find freedom from the cycles of anxiety and OCD so they can truly move forward and live their lives more fully. I use evidence-based models, including Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS)/ Parts Work. The combination of these approaches allows us to make meaningful changes while also deepening self-understanding and self-compassion. My style is warm, collaborative, and empowering. I see my role as being a supportive guide, providing honest reflection, offering practical tools, and checking in regularly to make sure you're getting what you need out of our time together. My ultimate goal is to provide a space in which you can experience healing, self-discovery, and growth. A space where you can strengthen your ability to cope with whatever life throws your way, openly explore what a meaningful and fulfilled life looks like to YOU, and then take steps into it with confidence.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we all have within us the wisdom and tools we need to create a fulfilling life. We also all need support sometimes and that makes us human. I believe you are the expert on your own life and ultimately you are the creator of your life and experience. As a therapist I believe it is my job to ask thoughtful questions that help you envision your desired future and then help you take steps towards that future. I believe that we all deserve to live a happy, fulfilled life. I also believe that we are all connected on some level, and that when we heal ourselves we are healing a piece of the world. In the words of the Beatles: "I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together".
