My Background
As a seasoned Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, I integrate verbal psychotherapy, creativity, and somatic therapy to help with your present needs. Sessions are solution focused, and paced collaboratively to support feeling empowered even when working with deep and painful material. I provide 2-3 evidence based tools and techniques to help support you in between sessions. In a short period of time you will gain confidence, reduce inconvenient symptoms that are preventing you living your best life. You don’t need to be an artist to benefit — creativity simply gives us new ways to express what words alone can’t reach.
Why I am a Good Fit for You
It is my personal belief, through my own lived experience "mental illness " is a normal response to an abnormal situation in a person's life (Viktor Frankl MD). I believe maladaptive behavior is a behavior that is causing harm, or dysfunction in a persons present day life, was at one time adaptive behavior. It is my experience in using an evidenced based approaches, it is possible to unlearn maladaptive coping mechanisms, replacing with adaptive coping mechanisms that can lead to a more a more fulfilling and joyful life.
