About My Clients
My typical clients are those who have experienced traumatic or distressing events in their lives, and are struggling to thrive and find a way to heal and move forward; Those who are motivated to gain understanding and insight in order to create positive change, as well as increase feelings of empowerment and agency, and ultimately, independence . I frequently work with the LGBTQ+ community, as well as COs, first responders, and law enforcement.
My Background and Approach
I practice both ART and traditional talk therapy, and draw from therapies including interpersonal, feminist, psychodynamic, and existential. This means that there is an emphasis on developing a therapeutic relationship, gaining insight into one's past, in an effort to then work toward healing and a hopeful and meaningful life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the good in humankind, as well as the possibility for each and every person to change and grow. I am reminded daily of the resilience of humans, and find the therapy process to be sacred. I believe in equality, that Black Lives and Black Trans Lives Matter. I am a cisgender bisexual female. I participate in advocacy, both in my professional and personal life, for those who are marginalized, in an attempt to use my privilege as a Caucasian counselor to uplift others. I believe that learning and evolution and healing are life long processes, and that there is hope in the endless opportunities for change that this offers.
