About My Clients
Struggling with depression, anxiety, addiction, life transitions, and problems with your partner are issues you do not need to face alone. I believe working together, in a collaborative approach, can help reduce fear and uncover inner strength. This can result in living with more peace, meaning, and loving relationships.
My Background and Approach
Most therapeutic approaches work to reduce symptoms. My approach is to work with the whole person. Helping people of various backgrounds to understand their unconscious inner world, trust themselves more, and to gain more mastery over their thoughts and emotions. It is very important to feel connected and comfortable with your therapist. I believe that people can sense this quality in the first session. The therapeutic relationship is a part of treatment- it can help to feel less lonely and foster intimacy in healthy relationships.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe self-care is not only a relationship with yourself. Self-care is cultivated specifically in the space between self and other. As adults, we choose relationships and it is our relationships that reflect how we feel about ourselves. Reaching out to receive support or guidance is an important relational skill. The most rewarding part of therapy is developing the skill to be more in control of life without the experience of being under control of others.
