About My Clients
My practice is a good fit for those who have deep and intense questions about meaning, freedom, and connectedness, along with a moderate to strong foundation of coping skills to provide a safety net while deeper questions are explored.
My Background and Approach
I am a Clinical Social Worker licensed in the states of Maine and New Hampshire. I have worked with individuals with Severe and Persistent Mental Illness, Addiction, Trauma, Family Conflict, and more. Through reflecting upon both my personal and professional experiences, I have found, as have many others, that the majority of our suffering occurs when we are confronted with an Existential Dilemma. We struggle to tolerate the Intersection of Ideas we once believed to be running perfectly parallel to one another. In our sessions, I will listen closely, curiously, and with authentic empathy, as you traverse the mental space that you’ve been free to explore thus far in life. I will not judge you. I will not prescribe your goals. I will not expect change or movement, let alone “progress”…but I digress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe you are the expert, the author, and the analyst of your own life. I believe that I know no more than you about how to exist in this world. I believe contradiction and hypocrisy are growing spaces, not shameful, dead-end roads. I believe that something magical happens when we are seen, heard, and unconditionally valued by someone we trust.
