About My Clients
For individual therapy, I work with folks who are experiencing anxiety and/or depression, exploring their childhood (maybe for the first time ever!), navigating complex trauma, experiencing life transitions (that maybe feel all-consuming), exploring being a highly sensitive or empathic person (in this current world), and folks curious about the way their lived experiences impact who they are and how they engage with the world.
My Background and Approach
I earned my master’s degree from Wayne State University in Clinical Social Work (LMSW) and also hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Michigan State University. I have worked in both private and community mental health settings allowing me to gain experience treating a wide range of psychological and behavioral issues. You deserve a space where you can show up fully and feel brave, affirmed, and like I'm on your team (because I absolutely am!). We might work well together if you're looking for someone direct, laidback, and who uses the occasional swear word (or two), you want a genuine relationship with your therapist, and you don't mind being challenged by a therapist who values your innate wisdom and your strengths.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
When I'm not in sessions, you'll likely find me spending time with my friends/family and two rescued pitbulls, drinking too much coffee or exercising mindfully. I operate from the belief that clients can feel safer when they have clarity around their therapist's identities and values. I am an active ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, I believe therapy and mental health care are inherently political, and believe working towards anti-racism requires a life-long process of both learning and un-learning. I am committed to advocating for equity and recognizing the role of systems and policy in the lives of my clients.
