I have experience working with women in substance use treatment as well as clients who have severe mental health disorders. My approach is gentle and sincere, and I practice unconditional positive regard. You will not be judged when working with me.
I have struggled with anxiety and self-esteem issues so I know how powerful a therapeutic relationship can be. I would be honored to join you on your journey to a happier, more peaceful life.
I use cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques to treat anxiety. I use these modalities to challenge and reconstruct unhelpful thought patterns.
As far as personality disorders go, I am well-versed in borderline personality disorder (BPD). I have done individual and group dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), an evidence-based treatment method for BPD. While I am not specifically a DBT therapist, I do use DBT skills in my practice to promote healthy coping skills.
I have attended DBT trainings led by experts in the field. I’ve done individual DBT and have co-facilitated a DBT group.
CBT is the foundation for changing many behaviors as it addresses unhelpful thought patterns. I use CBT in addressing issues such as anxiety and low self-esteem.
