About My Clients
I specialize in perinatal mental health, but enjoy supporting parents all along their journey of growing and nurturing a family. I have specialized experience and training supporting people that are facing the challenges of trying to conceive, pregnancy/postpartum, unexpected birth experiences, parenting, and infant/child loss. In addition to this speciality, I support adults and children experiencing challenges with mood, trauma, identity, relationships, body image, spirituality, and grief.
My Background and Approach
I draw from a combination of therapeutic approaches, but primarily view my work with clients through a psychodynamic, attachment-oriented, internal family systems lens - meaning that I see our work together to be both about what's happening now and the past experiences that have led you here. I believe that our life experiences and stories are all intricately interconnected - and that our early experiences are still impacting the ways we relate with others now. So, while we will give a voice to the symptoms and patterns that brought you to therapy, I want to help you to begin to name and explore the deeper parts of you that are drawing you to those ways of connection. We'll focus on tangible ways to help you build emotional awareness, develop authentic relationships, and deepen your understanding of yourself. Together, we will pay attention to what those parts are saying and collaborate to find the lasting relational change and healing that you're searching for.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Much of our work together will be about locating ourselves in the world and honoring our unique particularities in the process. As a clinician, it is important to me that my work is engaged through an anti-oppressive lens - welcoming folks of all identities. While I am willing to work with folks of many different belief systems, it is important that you know I am unapologetically anti-racist, feminist, HAES focused, and LGBTQ+ affirming. My style is often described as warm, genuine, curious, and playful. I am trauma-informed and attachment centered. I work hard to build trust with my clients - we collaborate together to create a therapeutic environment that is a safe place to explore and authentically bring ourselves to the work.
