About My Clients
I specialize working with teens, young adults, and children 5+ who have Autism and/or ADHD to help them connect with themselves and important others to process trauma and/or improve their emotional well-being. Most of my clients enjoy using some form of creative outlet to explore themselves, such as video games, dungeons and dragons, or comic/manga creation in therapy. I actively practice LGBTQ+ and gender affirming care.
My Background and Approach
I have previous experience in Montessori schools and am passionate about Montessori Philosophy and the prepared environment. I use this philosophy daily to help clients navigate ADHD. I am currently trained in EMDR and am working towards certification. I have extensive experience using art, video games, and music as forms of expression while working with children with ADHD/Autism. I am currently developing a monthly adolecent Dungeons and Dragons therapy group to encourage my kiddos to build connections with other neurodivergent peers through a shared interest while engaging in therapeutic interventions. I believe deeply in neuroaffirming care to help equip my clients with a deepened understanding of their diverse individuality to empower them to discover and advocate for accommodations that help them live long, unmasked, healthy, and fulfilled lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
At the end of the day, I ask myself five questions. Was I collaborative with the people I worked with today? Did I offer choice? How did I empower others today? Was I trustworthy and honest? Was I a safe person today for the people I work with? These reflect the trauma informed core values which I believe are essential to being a good clinician. I am passionate about equality and am an affiliate to the South Carolina Education Association to help support teachers in public education because I believe all children deserve access to quality education. I am a queer therapist, and welcome non-traditional families.
