About My Clients
Are you feeling overwhelmed? Maybe you are not where you wanted to be at this phase in your life? Are you just unhappy? I am here to help! We can work together to navigate the struggles you are experiencing to help you live that happy, full life you deserve! I work a lot with life transitions, grief, addiction, adolescents, anxiety, and depression. I really enjoy working with young adults and those who are searching for their identity.
My Background and Approach
I graduated from Stetson University with a bachelor’s in psychology and a master’s in clinical mental health counseling. I also have experience working in residential units, crisis units, high schools, and methadone clinics. Additionally, I have a background in case management, group counseling, and individual counseling. I have formal training in Truma Informed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), the Gottman Method, Prepare Enrich Couple's Method, and Motivational Interviewing (substance use specific). I do a lot of inner child work, somatic methods, and parts work.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about the ancient Greek concept of Sophrosyne, which focuses on improving one’s character and maintaining an upbeat sound of mind. The idea is to lead a well-balanced life and gain a sense of control rather than feeling like your life is spiraling and you don’t have access to the brakes or steering wheel. That is my approach toward helping others achieve their goals and create new pathways in life to better themselves. I firmly believe in people using creative methods to express themselves and finding passions that benefit their mental health. I do not believe in judging others, as I have an open mind and love to get to know the "real" side of people. So I welcome you and look forward to getting to know you better!
