About My Clients
With 10 years of experience in counseling, health coaching, and education, I have helped individuals through a wide range of mental health, behavioral and relationship issues (depression, anxiety, etc). My particular expertise is working with people with diabetes, weight-related issues, and other health concerns. I am also specialized in diabetes care and integrative medicine. I have worked in many settings, including community health, primary care, bariatrics and private practice.
My Background and Approach
My therapy style is compassionate, collaborative, and outcome-focused, meaning my goal is to help you find relief for your struggles and achieve your goals. As an integrative mental health provider, much of my work involves strategies that promote both mental and physical health as we know these are uniquely connected. As a team, we will work together to tailor a treatment plan that meets your needs. CBT, strengths-based and solution-focused approaches are fundamental to my work as well. Expect an energetic and genuine experience in working with me, where we may share laughs, perhaps shed a tear, and/or have an “ah-ha” moment. I intend for you to walk away feeling heard, supported, and to have a tangible goal established to help you gain the outcome you are seeking.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Part of being human is experiencing a range of emotions... and they're not all rainbows and sparkles. Going through difficult times is a part of life. For most of us, we need or at least benefit from gaining support through those times. Therapy gives you a totally safe place where you can explore your thoughts and behaviors with a trained professional who is non-biased. It is also a place where you can learn strategies to help you better deal with your challenges, set goals, and gain new perspectives. How great is that!? A good connection with your therapist is key! This also allows you to feel safe in sharing and trusting in feedback. I find that the most successful therapy sessions are when a person is able to be open to the process of therapy and try new things. If you're reading this, I honor the courage it took to take the first steps toward change. And I am delighted at the opportunity to take part in your journey toward a happier, more fulfilling life. Let's do this!
