When emotions feel big and overwhelming, it can be hard to know where to start. My Background and Approach
Resilient Foundations Counseling understands how heavy it can feel when you've tried so many things and nothing seems to work. You or your child may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, unsure of what else to do or where to turn to next. With Alexis, therapy is a warm, supportive space where children, teens, parents, caregivers, and families are met with compassion, understanding, and, most importantly, no judgment. Life doesn't always look like we pictured, and that's when we team up. Our first session is about us getting to know each other and deciding if we are the right team to help you reach your goals. From there, we will tailor our next steps to meet your individual or family's needs using evidence-based practices and trauma-informed care. Over time, this work is meant to help you steady your foundation, build skills, and strengthen resilience that can continue to support you long after therapy - so you can move forward feeling more grounded, confident, and at peace.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Through my experiences, both academic, professional, and personal, I have developed a belief system that drives my work. Everyone has resilience, but sometimes the ability to show it has been affected by challenging life events. With strong support in place and a foundation strengthened by love and connection, any goal is achievable. And I strongly believe every behavior is a form of communication. These beliefs guide my practice and help me to individualize your care based on your behaviors, goals, and needs.
