About My Clients
Children and teens are growing up in unprecedented times, specifically with the impact of a pandemic, social isolation, and social media on youth’s mental health. Many children and teens are experiencing challenges related to these stressors and need extra support in adjusting and working through them. As your child’s therapist, I can support you and your child in coping with many challenges associated with life changes, transitions, anxiety, grief, and school stressors.
My Background and Approach
I am currently registered with the Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Clinical Social Worker and I receive weekly clinical supervision from a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I received my Master of Social Work from the University of California, Los Angeles. I have experience working with children, teens, families, and young adults on a variety of issues such as anxiety, depression, adjustment challenges, and grief/loss. I have worked in outpatient settings providing psychotherapy and currently work in school-based services as well. In my work with clients, I am solution focused and I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and art-based therapy to help my clients achieve their goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults, and I provide that extra layer of support needed to thrive in today’s times. I believe that authenticity and trust are essential in building a therapeutic relationship and we will work together to process challenges, develop healthy coping skills, and make meaningful changes. I integrate art and activities into my therapeutic work, specifically with children, to help them identify and express their feelings. I believe therapy should be fun and not feel like a chore to your child. All children are capable of change, and as your child’s therapist I will be another supportive adult to help your child cope with life's challenges.
