About My Clients
If you've struggled with the internal conflict that accompanies your relationship with your body, have engaged in disordered eating, or feel like others think you should change your body; then I just may be the one to talk to. If you have a seemingly never-ending internal anxious monologue and feel like you could be worried about anything at any time then I look forward to helping you sort that anxiety into more manageable pieces.
My Background and Approach
Over the last 13 years of being a therapist I’ve had the privilege to meet and treat so many people, each of whom was on their own journey to better mental health and now my own career journey has led me here. I started Caim Counseling as a place for people to address their mental health so that they can be empowered to heal. I believe strongly in meeting people where they’re at and tailoring mental health care treatment to what each individual needs. I have an eclectic approach which leans towards Person-Centered therapy and have done additional work in areas like women’s issues, eating disorders, anxiety, grief, and LGBTQIA+ specific concerns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe strongly in the equality of all people and am committed to having an inclusive practice. We all belong in this space and I strive to provide care that reflects this belonging. I am also committed to: education on fat acceptance as well as the damaging effects of diet culture; the pervasive nature of patriarchy and how it negatively impacts every gender; and confronting hateful ideologies that surround us in every day life. I also volunteer at grief camp for children who have experienced traumatic loss and find grief work deeply rewarding.
