About My Clients
I work well with adults living with addiction, PTSD, and complex trauma. I have experience with people involved in the legal system, and have worked in a variety of levels of care. I also integrate spirituality into treatment when requested, and have experience with spiritual counseling and coaching. I am accepting new clients for EMDR intensives, giving you multiple hours (up to a full day) to focus on your own healing. I do not work with children/adolescents.
My Background and Approach
I have a person-focused orientation and see people as the experts in their own lives. I use EMDR and Ego State Therapy to address and resolve past trauma and current unhealthy behaviors. I work in collaboration with my clients to explore the issues that are holding them back and help them heal. I see people as the whole person they are, not just the result of what happened in the past. I have a positive and motivating approach, and work with clients to find the best way forward. I have shifted to an intensive-focused practice. I find that many people struggle with hour-long sessions, and feel they are only beginning to open up at the end of their time. Intensives allow a deeper experience, without having to worry about the clock. I have a background in LGBTQ advocacy, and practice from a social justice-informed perspective. I continue to engage in advocacy work, and am currently focused on eliminating gatekeeping in Connecticut's gender affirming therapy regulations.
