About My Clients
I specialize in psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults in their 20's and 30's. You may be experiencing changes related to adjusting to the responsibilities of adulthood, career stress, relationship concerns, or starting a family. Therapy can help you explore your values, goals, and existential questions as you navigate this important time in your life. I have experience working with concerns such as anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief/loss, and major life transitions.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling Psychology with emphasis in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara and a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Psychology with a minor in Religious Studies form Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. I have diverse experience working in a variety of settings including a substance abuse treatment, community mental health care, college mental health care, hospice work, and private practice. My approach is heavily influenced by psychodynamic theory and depth psychology which explores the roots of your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Imagine your mind as an iceberg – what you see above the surface represents your conscious thoughts, while the vast majority lies beneath, in the unconscious. My approach helps bring those hidden aspects into awareness. Together, we will uncover the underlying causes and conditions that impact your current difficulties, through exploring your past experiences, relationships, and childhood dynamics.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I identify as progressive and agnostic. I believe that all living beings are inherently valuable and worthy of respect. I welcome people from diverse backgrounds.
