About My Clients
Have you felt dismissed? Unsure if you're concerns are valid or blown out of proportion? I'm with you. It can be hard asking for support, let alone finding someone you can open up to. My community‑mental‑health background and lived experience fuels my passion for LGBTQ+ clients, communities of color, low‑income families, and anyone navigating life transitions or relationship challenges. Together we’ll build resilience, enhance communication, and craft personalized, empowering plans.
My Background and Approach
My lived experience, research interests, and a deep desire to help sparked my passion to become a therapist but working with marginalized communities shaped how I practice. I see how embarrassment, shame and other barriers often block access to care and support. I’m committed to bridging that gap—centered on connecting with and supporting the people who need it most. We all have unique journeys that shape how we approach life; our therapy should be no different. My work blends evidence‑based tools with a holistic, trauma‑informed lens. I tailor techniques to each person’s cultural background and life stage, offering practical skills, gentle curiosity, and humor to encourage reflection and lasting change. It's not enough to just be given the tools, we often need support tailoring it to our life and needs. As your therapist that's a part of my job, to help you make those tools backed by research work for where you are right now.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe: City planning and budgeting talks are politics, while immigration concerns, body autonomy, and racial/ethnic disparities (and similar concerns) are human rights issues. Sexual Identity and orientation are a spectrum, with each point along worthy of love and acceptance. Systemic oppression is real and hurts all of us, no matter the color of our skin or capabilities of our bodies.
