About My Clients
Throughout my graduate education and professional experience I have worked extensively with children, adolescents, young adults and families in a variety of settings, including a hospital, outpatient clinic, and in the home and community. I have experience treating patients who present with a variety of mental health challenges including ADHD, anxiety, depression, relationship issues and trauma.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is deeply rooted in person-centered, strengths-based philosophies; however, specific interventions and techniques used will vary depending on your individual needs. I often utilize art therapy techniques, mindfulness-based cognitive therapies, and trauma-focused interventions while in session. I believe that my role as a counselor is to establish a safe space filled with warmth, trust, and optimism that fosters self-understanding and independence.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have always been fascinated by the mind-body connection, which has led me to practice from a holistic standpoint that aims to improve health and wellness as a whole. This includes addressing mental health as well as physical, emotional, social, spiritual, and intellectual wellness throughout the counseling process.
