About My Clients
I love working with individuals and families struggling with relational issues, mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, trauma, and addiction. I enjoy working with new mamas/parents who are navigating the complexities of postpartum life. I work with folks who have never stepped into therapy before and are willing to finally look at themselves in a more deep and meaningful way.
My Background and Approach
I am first and foremost a humanistic therapist who believes in looking at the entirety of the individual person within their environment. I am a social worker at heart who has a deep passion for social justice and affecting change on both a micro and macro level. I believe healing only comes in and through the relationship, and that therapeutic relationship can be one of the most powerful ones in your life. I say this as someone who started going to therapy from a very young age. I can confidently say that my experiences in therapy radically transformed my life. Through this relational and humanistic lens, I draw on many other modalities, such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and Somatic Experiencing. Your care, safety, and confidentiality are always my utmost concerns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that no human is ever a "lost cause." I believe that change can happen even when we don't realize, and that behavioral change is typically not a linear experience. I believe in utilizing compassion, empathy, and tolerance not only as a therapist but as a human in our current culture. I value diversity and I strive to learn, understand, and grow with individuals of different beliefs, sexual orientations/identities, religions, ethnicities, and backgrounds.
